Christmas 2005

Here is a goofy picture of me on Christmas morning with my Boo Boo taking the shot. John and I had a very nice Christmas. I got a monkey(look above), chocolate, a long tiger, a bigger lens for my camera, Madagascar dvd, Toy Story dvd, ornaments, and Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time DS game. I loved all my presents very much! Christmas is John and I's favorite time of year, because we love just being together to celebrate. Next year we would like to add an addition to our family...I wish it was in our control, but obviously it is not.

My sweet Boo Boo got this teddy bear for Christmas. He also received some books(mainly political), Mario & Luigi gameboy advanced game, Slipknot cd, Monty Python and the Holy Grail dvd, Learning Italian book, lots and lots of chocolate....oh, and a sweet Christmas card.

Merry Christmas Eve

Christmas is almost here! The kitties are excited too. Not really....they could probably care less, especially when we dress them up like this for our family Christmas picture. Can you tell we need a Baby Boo in our life, so they can grace the family picture with a cute Christmas outfit?! I hope 2006 brings us a new family member to love. Tomorrow I will write all about our Christmas with each other, and our family.

Get Over Yourself Already

The monkey of the free world is making excuses again for his horrible decisions and actions. Does this man have no soul? Why does he even bother to speak? I wish he would just shut up already!!!!!!
Here is a great site to go to for some monkey humor!

A Long December

A long December and there's reason to believe
Maybe this year will be better than the last
I can't remember the last thing that you said as you were leaving
Oh the days go by so fast

And it's one more day up in the canyons
And it's one more night in Hollywood
If you think that I could be forgiven
I wish you would
(Na na na, etc. yeah)

The smell of hospitals in winter
And the feeling that it's all a lot of oysters, but no pearls
All at once you look across a crowded room
To see the way that light attaches to a girl

And it's one more day up in the canyons
And it's one more night in Hollywood
If you think you might come to California
I think you should
(Na na na, etc. yeah)

Drove up to Hillside Manor sometime after 2 a.m.
And talked a little while about the year
I guess the winter makes you laugh a little slower
Makes you talk a little lower about the things you could not show her

And it's been a long December and there's reason to believe
Maybe this year will be better than the last
I can't remember all the times I tried to tell myself
To hold on to these moments as they pass

And it's one more day up in the canyon
And it's one more night in Hollywood
It's been so long since I've seen the ocean
I guess I should
(Na na na, etc. yeah)

Strawberry Fields Forever

Imagine

Imagine there's no heaven,
It's easy if you try,
No hell below us,
Above us only sky,
Imagine all the people
living for today...

Imagine there's no countries,
It isnt hard to do,
Nothing to kill or die for,
No religion too,
Imagine all the people
living life in peace...

Imagine no possesions,
I wonder if you can,
No need for greed or hunger,
A brotherhood of man,
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world...

You may say Im a dreamer,
but Im not the only one,
I hope some day you'll join us,
And the world will live as one.

One of the greatest songwriter/musician of all time died 25 years ago today. A demented man took the life of John Lennon, while he was living in New York City. What a great lost we have all suffered! Imagine if he was still alive today. The impact he would have on the world would be astronomical!

The Al Franken Show

John and I went to the Al Franken Show in Boulder today. Normally, Al's show broadcasts from the Air America building in New York City. It was very cool meeting him, and we received a sign copy of his book The Truth. Al Franken was also a writer and an actor on Saturday Night Live many years ago. He use to do a character named Stuart Smalley.

Outside the Boulder Theatre where the Al Franken Show took place.

John and I having fun while waiting for the show to start.

Denver Chaotic

Today John and I went downtown to go to the Holiday Food & Gift Festival at the Colorado Convention Center. Let me just say the entire trip was a comedy of errors! For starters, we went to our usual parking area at 17th and Lincoln, and there was no place to park. We ended up driving around to find a parking space and got caught up in parade traffic. Who knew there would be a parade downtown today? Aughhh, it was painful trying to get out of the traffic jam. We finally escaped and decided to park in the parking garage at the convention center. We found a space and had to wait in line to pay for our parking. The parking machine was broken, and a guy had to do it manually.

Finally, we make it to the elevators to go into the convention center, but we took an elevator that brings us to the wrong place. We, and a few other people on board, stopped at the level of the festival, but we were on the wrong side of it. A guy who worked there told us to walk through and go through the doors ahead, so we did. Anyway to make a long story short, we ended up getting in for free, because we went in the wrong way and nobody stopped us. The convention center is a fairly, new building. They just redid it a few years ago, and it is extremely confusing. Nothing is marked well! Plus, why would you have an elevator that you can get on from the parking garage and have it go to some off the wall places. I don't get it!!! It was crazy, I tell ya!!!!

To finish it all out---it had overpriced food and the festival just wasn't that good. I guess we won't be going to that overcrowded, overchaotic, and overpriced place again.

Nintendo DS Bundles

John and I finally bought the Nintendo DS. We got the Nintendogs teal and pearl pink bundles. John bought his last Friday, October 28th, and I bought mine Sunday, October 30th. Mine, the pearl pink bundle, was a lot harder to find. Only Toys R' Us had it! John and I had to go to Aurora to get mine, since the Toys R' Us near us was already sold out.

We love playing with our DS! I have two dogs: Chocolate Lab named Hershey, and a German Shepard named BooBoo. John's dogs are: Dachshund named Plummer, and a Beagle named Lelie. Geez, I wonder why he named his dogs those names? Anyway, we can't wait until Mario Kart and Animal Crossing come out in late November and early December. It will be so exciting!

Melody, Sweet Melody

My sweet Melody went to the other side on November 1, 2001. She wasn't even four years old yet, and she went away. Here is a picture of Melody with her sister Harmony. Goodbye my sweet baby.

Golden Slumbers by The Beatles

Once there was a way to get back homeward.
Once there was a way to get back home.
Sleep pretty darling do not cry,
And I will sing a lullaby.
Golden Slumbers fill your eyes,
Smiles awake you when you rise.
Sleep pretty darling do not cry,
And I will sing a lullaby.

Thursday: Invesco Field Tour, Halloween costume shopping, Dave and Busters, and a quick tour of Downtown Denver on 16th street mall. Friday: Estes Park and Cinzetti's Saturday: Halloween Party with the Adventure Club and Haunted Houses. Sunday: Last minutes with Chris and dropping him off at the airport.

Old Friends

Old friends, old friends,

Sat on their parkbench like bookends
A newspaper blown through the grass
Falls on the round toes
of the high shoes of the old friends
Old friends, winter companions, the old men
Lost in their overcoats, waiting for the sunset
The sounds of the city sifting through trees
Settles like dust on the shoulders of the old friends
Can you imagine us years from today,
Sharing a parkbench quietly
How terribly strange to be seventy
Old friends, memory brushes the same years,
Silently sharing the same fears
Lyrics by Simon and Garfunkel

Christopher Calabro arrived from New York on Monday, October 24th around 10:30pm. John is holding the sign I made for Chris. Let the fun begin!!!!

Here is Chris and I eating at Beau Jo's on Tuesday, October 25th. I worked during the day, but John and Chris went to Fort Collins to visit Colorado State University. The school that John went to. They went to a vintage record store and ate lunch at the student center. They were trying to blend in with the other college kids, and Chris was checking out the college girls. ;)

John, Chris, and I rode the Cog Railroad up Pikes Peak to the top. We were over 14,000 feet! Here is a picture of us at the top, and we went on Wednesday, October 26th. Afterwards, we went to Trail Dust Steakhouse for dinner.

Go Broncos!!!! Chris, John, and I went to Invesco Field for a tour. We went on Thursday, October 27th. We spent the early part of the afternoon looking at where the Broncos play. Afterwards, we went to a store called Wizard's Chest in Cherry Creek to get our Halloween hats for the party. After that, we went to Dave and Busters.
